El Carriel Colombian Coffee Co.

Mi nombre es Juan Fernando Vargas, owner of El Carriel Colombian Coffee Co., a brand that’s more than just coffee—it’s a connection to my roots, family, and culture. As a first-generation Colombian and the proud owner of an LGBTQ+ and Hispanic-owned business, I founded El Carriel to honor my heritage, uplift independent farmers, and share Colombia’s rich coffee traditions with the world.

With a large portion of my family still in Colombia and time spent living in Jericó, Antioquia, I’ve seen firsthand the dedication that goes into coffee farming. For us, coffee is more than a drink—it’s a ritual, a symbol of resilience, and a way to connect.

Named after the Carriel, a traditional Colombian leather satchel tied to the country’s coffee culture, El Carriel Coffee celebrates community, perseverance, and craftsmanship. Every bag is sourced with care from sustainable farms in Antioquia, ensuring quality, fair opportunities, and a lasting impact.

So whether you're enjoying El Bacano or El Parcero, you're not just drinking coffee, you’re supporting a business that values heritage, inclusivity, and community.
